First Impressions - The Body Shop

Saturday, March 21, 2015

Hello again!

As I mentioned in my last post I recently bought a couple of makeup bits from The Body Shop and I thought I'd do a First Impressions post for any of you that are interested! Be warned it contains pictures of my makeup-less face.

Before - no makeup. I had simply wiped over my face with some Garnier Miceller Water.

During - This is straight after I has applied The Body Shop All-In-One BB Cream in the shade 00.

I applied a small amount to the back of my hand and then applied this to my face using the Real Techniques Buffing Brush. This product went on very easily with minimum amount of effort required to get a really nice effect. Initially I was quite worried that the BB Cream might end up orange on my very pale skin but I was pleasantly surprised. It definitely added a bit more colour but the finished result looked like more of a healthy glow I thought! The cream felt very light weight on my face as if I had simply applied a moisturiser. The only downside being the smell isn't great but it's bearable!

After - This is when my makeup was completely finished.
TBS All-In-One BB Cream - 00 Fair
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder - Translucent
TBS Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder - 01 Light Matte
TBS Lip & Cheek Velvet Stick - Universal
Soap & Glory Brow Archery - Love is Blonde
Benefit Roller Lash

Once my base makeup was complete I did add a dusting of powder as I tend to have quite a shiny t-zone as it is but once this was complete I did not touch up throughout the day as this isn't something I tend to do on a daily basis. I was really impressed with the finished look and found the colour to be a really nice match for me. The BB Cream really blurred my imperfections and other products blended really well on top.

The Lip & Cheek tint looked a bit black when I first applied to my lips (the bullet is black) but this wore off ones I rubbed my lips together. After a few seconds this gorgeous purpley-pink developed and I really thought it suited the overall makeup look! Once dried the tint went very quite matte but still felt very creamy and not at all drying!
On the cheeks this also came out very well and a really similar colour if anything a bit pinker. One thing I would mention is you have to blend fast! Nonetheless I was very happy with the finished result.

9 Hours Later - After a day of shopping etc.

After a day of shopping, cinema and eating I thought I would check back in (no touch ups remember!) and I couldn't be more pleased.

Yes, my t-zone was very shiny but as mentioned earlier it does tend to be anyway and with a powder touch up I really don't think this would have been a problem. The tint had worn off in places and definitely needed a touch up but there was still a small amount of colour there.
For 9 hours, 3 outfit changes and a lot of general activities I really do think these products lasted well.

So that's it! Have you tried any of these products? Let me know what you think!
