Recap of the Year 2014

Wednesday, December 31, 2014

So here we are, 2015 is around the corner, literally.
Often when it comes to this time of the year people focus on the 'new year, new start' and only think about the amazing things they have planned for the year ahead. Which of course is exciting but sometimes it's good to reflect on the things you've done this past year and note the achievements you have made rather then all the things that didn't quite go to plan.

So here we go, a quick 6 point list of the things I have done and achieved this year.

- Travelling -
Early this year I got the chance to visit Paris with a friend as a Christmas treat! I wrote a post on it here. Although I would never want to visit again, I really did enjoy seeing the sights and am super glad I got to (finally) tick it off my bucket list.

- Taking risks -
Not always a good one but worked in my favour this year.
I decided GP Reception work wasn't for me and chose to leave when my apprenticeship finished. At the time I had no clue what I was going to do, I didn't have a job to move on to and I didn't even have any interviews lined up. But, nonetheless I was still determined to move on. Amazingly a week before my end date I heard from a company I had shown interest in and they offered me an interview. 29th May I left the Dr's Surgery and that very same day I went for an interview at my, now, current workplace. The very next day (Friday) I had a call offering me to start my new role on the Monday! Luck or Fate?

- Travelling Take 2 -
In October I visited Ibiza with a friend. I have been to the exact hotel 3 times now and still love it! The time had come for a little break and I couldn't think of anywhere better. If you're looking for a family friendly holiday I would certainly recommend Fiesta Milord Hotel, San Antonio Bay, Ibiza.
Take me back!

- New challenges -
For the longest time I have wanted to learn some proper skills in makeup. I researched constantly looking into makeup schools and academies all over England. I finally found one which I thought would be perfect and enquired at the beginning of the year but at the time I was too scared and backed out. This month I decided to bite the bullet and now, in August 2015, I shall be attending the Davinia Fermi Makeup Academy in Brighton for 5 Days!
I am beyond excited!

- Determination -
I passed my driving test in 2012 and since then I have unfortunately been in 2 accidents (both which were not my fault). This seriously knocked my confidence and resulting in me getting rid of my car and giving up driving. These past few months I felt so ready to get back behind a wheel and felt I was finally stable enough to go through with it. After viewing a few used cars I decided I would most likely feel safer in a new car (as one of my accidents was down to break failure) so after much consideration I bought myself a brand new purple Peugeot 108.
I'm in love.

- Battling my demons -
For years now I have suffered quite badly with anxiety and stress. Nothing I have tried seemed to work and it all just got to much. After seeing my GP we decided CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) may be the best solution. Now I won't go into detail but I have now being having this for around 9 weeks and feel I now cope a lot better and am still progressing every week.

Let me know what you have done and achieved this year!

Wishing you a Happy New Year!
