Shed to Salon

As I mentioned in my previous post, I now have a little salon, in our outbuilding, attached to the house. So, because I am super proud/grateful, I thought I would show you some before, during and after pictures!

So, picture this, a dirty old brick outbuilding. Full of all the things you don't want traipsing into the house and inhabited by relatives of Aragog. Gross right? That't without mentioning it looked as though it was used as a smoking hut for many years before my boyfriend fiance started renting it.

Basically, to begin with we emptied the whole lot. Absolutely everything. This was, however, one of those moments where other places get messier to make one place tidier. My poor garden.

We then had the mammoth task of cleaning the place. We couldn't just power wash it as there wasn't anywhere to drain the water away so we got two huge sweeping brushes and a couple of cloths and got to work scrubbing!

Next we painted the walls a lovely clean white, laid the floor and built a desk. When I say we, I mean 90% Kallum and 10% me. As soon as the walls were finished it already looked a lot better so as you can imagine the floor really finished it off.

I then spent a further few hours filling it with all of my nail gear and putting everything right where I wanted it! (As you can probably imagine this bit was all me.)

By about 10pm I finally had a fully functioning salon complete with nail station and pedicure area. Everywhere was clean and everything had it's place. No more working in the living room and banishing Kal upstairs.

As you can probably tell I am super happy with how it all turned out and couldn't be more grateful to both Kallum and my parents for all their help and support. I must have been such a stress head that day (when aren't I?!) but it was all so worth it for the amazing work space we created.
