We got married! On September 7th 2019, after much planning, we finally said 'I Do' in front of our loved ones and it was perfect.

In the run up to the wedding I was stressed beyond belief. It felt like nothing was going to be right but everyone told me 'none of it will matter on the day'. Me being the negative nelly I am, I didn't believe them but nevertheless I decided that to try and be optimistic I would try and enter with that mindset at least. 'If it's not done now there's nothing we can do about it'. We also decided that the week before and the week after would be a TTC conversation free zone. No negativity, please!

I can now honestly say - none of it did matter and everything was perfect! 

There was only 31 people (including us and the photographers) at the ceremony itself. We went to the gorgeous local registry office (no seriously, it is stunning - think wooden chairs and marble pillars) and it was just right. We laughed, we cried and we cheered. Our music songs were just beautiful (if I do say so myself) and the registrar was so warm and welcoming.
After the official bit - we then went to a local golf club for the meal and party. We had the same 31 people for the meal and this made it run so smoothly and meant we were really able to speak to everyone. The food was amazing (Mars bar cheesecake or chocolate fudge caked for dessert?! - instant yes from me!) and it was a really lovely and chilled atmosphere.

As our vows were at 11:30am and our meal was at about 2pm- there was quite a gap between that and our evening guests arriving at 6:30pm. That didn't matter too much though as me and my bridesmaids went for a nap while the boys and the family played a game of mini/crazy golf. Actual wedding highlight!

A quick refresh, re-dress and ride in a golf buggy later - the evening guests started to arrive and the party was in full swing. There was a slight hiccup of the DJ arriving 1 hour late but no one seemed to mind and he made up for it with his music and confetti cannon. The evening was a little busier with just over 100 people but we couldn't have been happier with the people who made the effort to come and get involved. We cut our cake at about 9pm (I didn't get a piece on the night unfortunately but there is some in the freezer) and then a few tears were shed during our first dance. Once all of that was 'out the way' so to say, we gathered everyone outside for a little surprise...

FIREWORKS!

I absolutely love bonfire night and really wanted something extra special to add to the wedding for people to remember. I was so, so happy with them and they seemed to go down really well with the guests too. Surprises out of the way, we spent the rest of the evening dancing our little feet off. It really did just feel like a big party and the day was filled with so much love from start to finish. I couldn't have wished for more and now I'm looking forward to spending the rest of my life with my soul mate.
