Since we moved in over 2 years ago, we always knew that the bathroom would need changing as it was very basic and not at all what we would have picked. Not only were the floors ugly and the tiling impractical - we also had the issue of only really having a bath. When we first moved in we made do by putting up a tension rod with a shower curtain and putting a shower bracket on the wall to put the handheld shower head on. This didn't last long though as the bathroom hadn't been tiled well enough for a shower to be running so it leaked into the living room. By the end of it we had two tension rods and three shower curtains up and showering was not a pleasant experience.
Having the bathroom completely redone was a long process - we wanted to make sure we did it right and we also wanted to keep cost in mind. We had different ideas run through our minds for a while (at one point Kal wanted it turning into an en-suite) and we also had quotes etc but was waiting for the right time. Then in February this year we choose going on a holiday over having it done and it got pushed back again even before COVID hit. Anyway, long story short, we found a guy to do it in July and booked him in for his next availability which was August and it's the best decision we've made all year!
In the end for both realistic practicality and price - we decided to keep the bath and sink that Gleeson installed but have everything else changed. He ripped off all the tiles, moved the toilet and got rid of the radiator too! We had all the walls and flooring tiled, new taps, a towel radiator and then a 'proper' shower and screen fitted. Picking the fittings was a lot more stressful than first anticipated as we ordered everything ourselves but it all came together in the end and we actually managed to get everything, other than the tiles, online.

The work only took about four and a half days and we couldn't be happier with the results! All of the accessories we have in there we managed to pick up really cheap from either Ikea or B&M so we really didn't spend unnecessarily. All in all I'm so pleased with the results and super grateful that we could even have it done!
